Backup and Restore

Backup and Restore

Do you ever wonder why there are so many systems in place to just about guarantee that we stay safe at all times?

Think about motor vehicles. We have airbags to help keep us from suffering more serious injuries in case of an accident. There are even some cars now that can detect if you are moving into other lanes, if there are cars approaching on either side, if you are getting too close to another car, they can parallel park for you (!!) and some that can brake on your behalf. Then there are the video cameras that help you when you are pulling in and backing out.

If this industry creates something that can save lives, money and time then you better believe they are going to use it, so why would you NOT do something as simple as backing up your computer, tablet or smartphone?

Seriously!

I know I went from cars to computers, but the concept of backing up your computer is not nearly as complex as designing, testing, re-designing, testing again, and installing all those devices that help the owner of the car be more efficient at operating the car.

We live in a time period where technology is literally everywhere, but easier access means greater risk. There is risk involved in everything we set out to do, but there are systems in place to help minimize the damage that comes with risk.

Backing up your computer, tablet, and smartphone is you making the effort to minimize the damage if disaster should strike.

Disaster will strike. Your toddler might (will, definitely) get a hold of your smartphone and try to flush it down the toilet, or you forgot that your smartphone was in your back pocket and you “accidentally” tried to flush it down the toilet. Your computer will get a virus, probably from one of those scams on Facebook (you just HAD to open it), it will shut down, go dark, and when you finally get it fixed all your data will be gone. Your tablet might get stolen, out of your car because you were dumb and left it in there (in plain sight), your whole life was on that tablet.

I’m hoping you get the idea here. There is a system in place to protect you from toddlers, yourself, thieves, yourself again, etc. However, it can only protect those that use it. BACKUP your computers, tablets and smartphones. Backing up leads to Restoration. If you backup you can restore, which means you can retrieve your information, your 1,000 pictures, and videos that you just CAN’T live without.

Backing up saves lives because it limits stress. Be smart and backup!
