5 Ways You Can Give Back This Christmas
Hey, its almost Christmas!! We’re sure you have made your list and checked it twice, but we would like to encourage you to give more than you receive this holiday season. We should do more as a community to give back, so we picked 5 ways that you can do that this holiday season, and we would like to encourage you to get your families involved so that we can help pass on generosity to those around us.
Sponsor an angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree or adopt an elderly person from one of your local nursing homes. Click on this link: https://salvationarmysouth.org/angel-tree/ to help you find a tree near you.
Before you unwrap all your new goodies, clean out your closets and bins. Donate all your clothes and toys (that are in good condition) to local shelters or donation bins. If you have coats and blankets you aren’t using you can donate those to Project Warm US. They have a drop off location in Dallas. You can find out more here: http://www.projectwarm.us.
Take a meal or some treats to your local Police and Fire Departments. They will appreciate it greatly! Don’t forget to include a thank you note, after all, they do a lot for us!
Volunteer! volunteermatch.org is a great resource to help you get matched to a local organization where you can volunteer for the holidays and after. You should also try reaching out to your local VA and ask them if there is something that you could help with during the holidays or if there is a Veteran that might be in need of a few things.
Finally, SHOP SMALL! We are a small business and we are all about supporting our local stores. When you shop small you are supporting a family in your own community, it doesn’t get much better than that!
Christmas time can be a magical time for many, but for some, it is sadly just another reminder of things that they don’t have, so be a giver this season and help make this time special for someone who needs it!
